That familiar green egg has officially gone into hiding this week as staff of the Hazard Herald kicked off their annual Great Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday.

Beginning March 2 and extending through April 20, each edition of the Hazard Herald will contain a clue to the secret spot where this year’s Easter Egg is hidden. All you have to do to get the clues is pick up a copy of the newspaper or visit one of the contest’s sponsors each week during the contest period.

This year’s hunt will mark the Herald’s 4th annual contest, and Publisher Joshua Byers noted that it’s a promotion the Herald's staff really enjoy.

"It's such an exciting contest for both our staff and our readers," Byers said. "There's no question that the Hazard Herald Easter Egg promotion kicks off spring."

Once you have pieced together the egg’s hiding place, all you have to do is find it and bring the egg back to the Herald’s office at 439 High Street to claim your $300 prize.
