Irene Smith, 84, of Hazard, died Wednesday, April 25 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
She was the daughter of the late Joe Eversole and the late Isabell Eversole, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Colburn Smith; infant daughter; sisters Nora Rakel and Gertrude Eversole; and brothers Estill Eversole, Irvin Eversole, Jim Eversole and Brownloe Combs.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana Sumner and husband Denver; sisters Virginia Henson and Martha Jackson; brothers Harold Eversole and Joe Eversole; grandchildren Jonathan Sumner, and Joshua Sumner and wife Helen, along with a host of family and friends.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where services were conducted on Saturday, April 28 with J.T. Eversole officiating. Interment was at Smith Cemetery in Big Creek.
