Early last week, the Hazard Lady Bulldogs traveled to Hyden for the opening round of the 14th region volleyball tournament. The Lady Bulldogs took on the host Leslie County Lady Eagles in their first game. The two teams split the regular season meetings, with each taking a 2-1 win on their others floor.

The first game started well for the Lady Bulldogs, but soon turned sour. The Lady Eagles began to pull away midway through, giving them the advantage. Hazard had a couple of rallies in the game, but could not pull off the comeback as they fell 25-14.

Hazard got off to another good start in game two, but once again began to fall behind late. The Lady Bulldogs could not force a game three with a win (18-25), and ended their season with a 2-0 loss.

Hazard finished their season with a 14-18 record.
