The Perry County Central Lady Commodores opened the 14th region softball tournament with the host Powell County Lady Pirates. The Lady Commodores defeated the Lady Pirates on the final day of the regular season.
The Lady Pirates opened the game with a run in the top of the first inning. The one-run lead held until the third inning when the Lady Commodores erased the run with a single run to tie the game.
Perry Central broke the game open in the fifth inning as they crossed the plate four times to take the 5-1 advantage. Powell County answered with two runs in the following inning, bringing the tally to 5-3.
The Lady Commodores scored an insurance run in the sixth inning, and then settled in to shutdown the Lady Pirates. Perry Central moved on in the tournament with the 6-3 win.
