Authorities responded to the fire at 6:41 p.m. on Tooter Branch Road in the Jeremiah community of Letcher County, state police said.
After the fire was extinguished, 68-year-old Lindsey Blair was found dead inside the residence.
Police say the fire appears to be accidental, but remains under investigation by Det. Gary Sandlin and Arson Investigator James Burnett of the Kentucky State Police.
