Little League: Yankees down Angels 12-4

The James River Coal Yankees and the 1st Trust Bank Angels hooked up in a midweek Little League game. The Yankees eased into an early lead, and then exploded to take the 12-4 win.

The Yankees took a slim lead early, scoring single runs in the first and second inning. The Angels broke the ice in the third with a run (1-2), but gave up six to the Yankees in the bottom of the frame.

The Yankees then outpaced the Angels by the count of 4-3 down the stretch to give them the 12-4 win.

Yankee stats: Wade Pelfrey 1 hit and 2 runs, Bailey Blair 1 hit and 2 runs, Cameron Stacy 1 hit and 2 runs, Braxton Cottongame 1 run, Reece Fletcher 2hits and2 runs, Trevor Spurlock 1 hit and 2 runs, and Caleb Dean 1 run.

Angel stats: Noah Back 1 hit and 1 run, Bryson Parks 1 run, Cameron Caudill 1 run and Dustin Alexander 1 run.
