Lonnie “Arlis” Smith, Jr., 47, of Hazard, died Tuesday, Dec. 11 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
He was the general manager of the Hazard Applebee’s, and was preceded in death by his sister, Colene Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Lynn Smith; daughter Amy Smith; father Lonnie Smith and wife Amanda; mother Charlene Cress and husband Forrester; father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles and Janice Skiles; sisters Vanessa Oaks and husband Randy, Kim Morley and husband Derek, and Hollie Smith; brothers Danny Smith and wife Crystal, Allen Cress, James Ramey and wife Whitney, Silas Ramey and wife Jamie, and Lonnie Paul Smith; and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14. Services will begin at noon on Saturday, Dec. 15 with Larry Hendrix and Troy Smith officiating. Interment will be at Smith Cemetery on Acup.
