Drushal Fugate, born January 26, 1935 at Krypton, Ky., departed this life on Monday, April 7 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. At the time of his passing he was 73 years, two months and 11 days of age.
By occupation he was retired from General Motors Corporation in the paint department. He was a member of the Lothair Baptist Church and a member of the Cincinnati Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed gardening and fishing as his hobbies.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sewell and Otie McIntosh Fugate; sisters June Prather and Janie Thuman.
He leaves the following relatives surviving: his wife, Pauline Fugate of Hazard, Ky.; daughters Brenda Vontz and Steve of Goshen, Ohio, Shirley Coffey and Larry of Goshen, Ohio, Diana Dahlenburg and Doug of Florence, Ky., Sharon Geer and Steve of Wilmington, Ohio; brothers Henry Fugate of Lake City, Fl., Delbert Fugate and Sharon of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters Hazel Sandlin of Hazard and Faye Kovac of Cincinnati, Ohio; special sister-in-law Joy Cornett of Hazard. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will be left behind to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, April 10 at Engle-Walker Funeral Home with Rev. John Morris officiating. Burial took place in the Riverside Cemetery in Hazard. Goldie Hamblin
Goldie Hamblin, born May 16, 1921 in Hazard, Ky., departed this line on Monday, April 14 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tn. At the time of her passing, she was 86 years, 11 months and eight days of age.
By occupation, Goldie was a homemaker. She was affiliated with Krypton Pentecostal Church and she enjoyed gardening, being with her children and family, and she especially enjoyed her pets.
She is preceded in death her parents, Bige and Nancy Stacy Hoskins; her husband, Harrison Hamblin; three daughters, Helen Hamblin, Loretta Couch and Loraine Couch; one son, Carl Wayne Hamblin.
She is survived by sons Herbie Hamblin of Busy, Ky., Charles “Chuck” Hamblin and Elma of Busy, Ky., James Harrison Hamblin and Barbara of Lexington, Ky., Earnest Jr. Couch and Verlia of Lexington, Ky., Earl Couch and Edna of Lexington, Ky.; daughters Brenda Proctor and Mike of Slayden, Tn., Linda Miles and Doyle of Slayden, Tn., Rosetta Feltner and Carter of Lexington, Ky., Lois Tucker and Donnie Anderson of Jeffersonville, Ky., Audrey French and Danny Hill of Georgetown, In. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives that will be left behind to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17 at Krypton Pentecostal Church at Krypton, Ky. with Rev. Carl Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in the Baker Cemetery in Busy, Ky. Carlos Raymond Sellars
Carlos Raymond Sellars, born July 30, 1923 in Perry County, Ky., departed this life on Thursday, April 10 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. At the time of his passing, Carlos was 84 years, eight months and 10 days of age.
By occupation, he was a retired coal miner. He was also a World War II veteran serving in the United States Navy. He was a member of the First Creek Baptist Church and a former member of the Somerset DAV. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and he also enjoyed baseball and basketball.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dicie Campbell Sellars; sisters Wanda and Jean Adams and Geneva Couch.
Carlos leaves behind the following relatives: His loving wife, Mrs. Rhoda Sellars of Hazard, Ky.; daughter Joann Burton of Somerset, Ky.; stepdaughters Delphia Lasslo, Edna Combs, Lucille Parsons, Martha Honeycutt, Glenna Campbell, Pauline Campbell and Darlene Campbell, all of Hazard; stepsons Verdie Campbell of Indiana, Clayburn "Peewee" Campbell of Indiana, Clayton "Bo" Campbell of Stanton, Ky. and App "Buddy" Campbell of Hazard; sister Christine Combs of Hazard; special brother-in-law Chester Wooton; brothers-in-law Albert Wooton, Arville Wooton and Kermit Whitt, all of Ohio; and sisters-in-law Virgie Whitt and Lucy Wilson, both of Ohio. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren will also be left behind to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, April 13 at Engle-Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Pete McGee officiating. Curial took place in the Riverside Cemetery in Hazard. Visitation was held Saturday, April 12 at the funeral home.

Dennis Ray Stidham, born November 22, 1978, departed this life on Tuesday, April 8 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. At the time of his passing he was 29 years, four months and 16 days of age.
He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Janice Stidham of Krypton, Ky; loving wife Patricia Stidham; children Blake Stidham and Eva Hailey Stidham, both of Krypton, Ky.; sisters Becky Stacy and Eddie of Hazard, Ky., Cassie Moore and Scott of Upper Second Creek, Tonya Stidham of Krypton, Ky.; brother Charlie Stidham and Jennifer Dixon of Krypton; cousins D.J. Colwell, Austin Colwell, Gloria Campbell and Crystal Amburgey; special friends Rhonda Miller, Renee Eldridge, Bruce Napier and Jason Bush. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends that will be left behind to mourn his passing.
The family received friends Saturday evening at the Krypton Brethren Church. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, April 12 at the church with Rev. Merill David Collins, Rev. Roland Stidham and Rev. Jim Sluss officiating. Entombment took place in the Napier Branch Cemetery in Krypton.

Jesse “E.L.” Howard
Jesse “E.L.” Howard of Hazard, Ky. passed way on Tuesday, April 8 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. He was a retired truck driver in the coal industry.
He is the son of the late Jesse James Howard and the late Charity Tomlin Howard.
He is survived by his wife, Freda Howard. He is also survived by daughter Beverly Carol Bailey and John of Hazard; son James Michael Howard and Darlene of Hazard; sister Gail Wells and Richard of Leslie County; brother James Howard and Wanda of Berea, Ky.; grandchildren David, Jesse and Amber Howard; great-grandchild Ryan Howard and a host of family and friends.
The family received friends from 6 - 9 p.m. on Thursday April 10 at Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. The funeral service was conducted at the chapel on Friday, April 11 with James Cornett officiating. Entombment was at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Hazard, Ky.
Richard “Old Blue” Grubbs
Richard “Old Blue” Grubbs of Rowdy, Ky. passed away Tuesday, April 8 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center. He was 74 years of age at the time of his passing.
He was the son of the late Dave Grubbs and the late Melissa Gibson Grubbs.
He is preceded in death by brothers Willie and Gene Grubbs and sister Mary Ethel Turner.
He is survived by sisters Edna Engle, Stella Philpot and Bertha Strawsbough; and brothers Ed Roark and Kelly Grubbs. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family received friends on Thursday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. The funeral service followed at Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard with Buddy Turner officiating. Burial was at Combs Cemetery at Strongs Branch, Ky.

Charlotte Ann Wooton
Charlotte Ann Wooton departed this life on Monday April 7 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. Being born September 21, 1963, she was 44 years, six months and 16 days of at the time of her passing.
By occupation, Charlotte was a school bus driver and cafeteria worker employed by the Perry County Board of Education. She was a life-long resident of Perry County and a member of the County Line Community Church. Her hobbies included cooking and being with family and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Warren G. Baker.
She leaves the following relatives surviving: Mother Betty Baker of Busy, Ky.; husband Bob Wooton of Busy, Ky.; daughters Tracie Lee Gross and Lonnie Wayne of Richmond, Ky.; sister Sharon Thornton and Donald Lee of Busy, Ky.; grandson Warren Maxwell Gross; and nephew Dwayne Thornton of Busy, Ky. She is also survived by a host of other close relatives and friends that we be left behind to mourn her passing.

Charles Irvin Gayhart, born January 9, 1958 at Harlan, Ky., departed this life on Thursday, April 10 at his residence in Ary, Ky. At the time of his passing he was 50 years, three months and two days of age. By occupation, he was a former employee in the communications industry, working for Artel Security Systems.
He is preceded in death by his father, Irvin Gayhart.
He is survived by his mother, Geneva Gayhart of Tennessee, wife Gay Lynn Gayhart of Ary; sons Charles Gayhart of Louisville, Ky., Wayne Edwards of Ary, Johnny Gayhart of Louisville, Michael Edwards of Louisville; daughters Victoria Briones of Ary and Brenda Gayhart of Louisville; brother Josiah Gayhart of Harriman, Tn.; sisters Sonja Carter of Tn., Judy Thompson of Tennessee, Jerry Combs of Jackson, Ky.; special aunt Alice Gayhart of Lost Creek, Ky. He is also survived by eight grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends that will be left behind to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held (today) Wednesday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at the Pentecostal Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Lost Creek, Ky. Burial will take place in the Gayhart Cemetery at Lost Creek. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 15 at the church.
