Omer Landrum, 85, formerly of Rowdy, died Monday, Dec. 17 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

He was a retired employee for the state highway department, and the son of the late Logan Landrum and the late Polly Ann Hamilton Landrum. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Landrum; daughter Brenda Whitaker; sister Eddie Stevens; half-sister Jewel Campbell; and half-brother Tevis Campbell.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Lisa Lynn Fugate; brothers-in-law Eugene Steven and Wilgus Neace; half-sister Goldie Campbell; half-brothers Carter, David, and Herman Campbell; cousins Juanita Agee, Dixie Noble, and Fred Landrum; nephew Tim Stevens; and a host of family and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Hays Cemetery at Rowdy with Rev. Amos Hamblin and Rev. Eldon Miller officiating.
