The Herald learned of the layoffs this week and was informed Tuesday that officials with Sykes Enterprises announced the layoffs to employees.
Andrea Thomas, with the Sykes corporate office, declined to comment on the layoffs when contacted earlier on Tuesday.
Sykes re-opened its call center in the Chavies community four years ago, brining with it hundreds of jobs to local residents in Perry and other counties.
