HAZARD – A Perry County man charged with robbing a local gas station was given a trial date during a brief court appearance last week.

Albert Noble, 26, of Bulan, was indicted in September 2012 on allegations that he used force while committing a theft at the Grapevine Super Mart in Perry County on Aug. 10, 2012. He was additionally accused of assaulting a police officer and attempting to take the officer’s sidearm.

Noble has pleaded not guilty and remains free on bond. He is set to appear in court again on April 3 for a pretrial conference, while Circuit Judge William Engle set a trial date of Monday, May 20.

Noble is facing charges of first-degree robbery, third-degree assault, first-degree fleeing or evading, disarming a police officer, theft by unlawful taking under $500, third-degree criminal mischief and first-degree persistent felony offender.
