Virginia Bowling, 80, passed away on Friday, January 22 in Indianapolis, In. She was born November 29, 1929 in Perry County to the late Matt and Jesse (Dixon) Barger.

She lived in Perry County for most of her life and in Indianapolis for 35 years. She enjoyed her family, flowers, and embroidery. Before retiring in 1985, she was an assembly line worker for RCA in Indianapolis.

She is survived by her husband, Lester Bowling of Chavies; children Lester Bowling, Jr. and wife Connie of Mooresville, In., Estil Bowling and wife Karen of Indianapolis, Irene Clemmons and husband Kevin of Mooresville, and Ben Bowling and wife Tracy of Marshall, Il.; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and sister Lucille Hacker of Fredericksburg, In.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Chloe Barger.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 28 at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home of Hazard with Jerome Baker officiating. Burial followed at the Harrison-Bowling Cemetery located at Buckhorn.
