The Perry County Central Commodores and the Letcher Central Cougars kicked off the 14th region baseball tournament last week. The Commodores played well, but failed to put any runs on the board and fell to the Cougars 2-0.
The first run of the game came in the third inning when the Cougars manufactured a score, crossing the plate on a pass ball (1-0). Letcher County would strike again in the fourth inning, giving them the 2-0 lead.
Neither team would cross the plate in the remaining innings, leaving the 2-0 score as the final. The Commodores ended their season with a 13-20 record.
