On Saturday, the Hazard Bulldogs hosted the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs fell down early, but the deficit did not last long as the Bulldogs rallied to swat the Jackets 4-1.
Middlesboro got on the board first with a run in the second inning. Hazard erased the run and took the lead in the bottom of the frame. Kevin Eversole got aboard via the error, and was joined by Matt Collins who legged out a single. Both would score on a Jordan Olinger single.
The Bulldogs added another run in the fourth inning, giving them the 3-1 lead. Austin Johnson got things started with a double, and came around to score on a Josh Meehan single.
Hazard added an insurance run in the sixth inning (4-1). Jordan Olinger got aboard with an error, and promptly stole second. This put him in position to score on a Josh Meehan single.
The Bulldogs allowed the Jackets to get their lead-off man aboard in the seventh inning, but he would get no farther than first. Hazard was able to hold on for the 4-1 win.
Kameron Conley got the win on the mound, going the distance. Conley gave up one run on two hits, with eight strikeouts and five walks.
