The Hazard Lady Bulldogs took to the softball field three times last week, and came away with a 1-2 record. The Lady Bulldogs opened the week with a win against Prestonsburg on the road, and then followed it with a pair of losses to Jackson City and Wolfe County.
The Lady Bulldogs week started well as they traveled to Prestonsburg to take on the Lady Blackcats. The game was nip-and-tuck throughout with Hazard pulling out the 8-7 win.
Hazard’s next game was at home against the Lady Tigers of Jackson City. Jackson City took an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Hazard then tied the game in the third inning 3-3.
The Lady Tigers grabbed the 4-3 advantage in the fourth inning, but allowed the Lady Bulldogs to tie the game once again at seven. Jackson City then exploded for ten runs in the sixth inning, bringing the game to an early end.
Hazard’s final game of the week was on the road as they took on the Wolfe County Lady Wolves. Hazard put up a valiant fight, but came up just shy of the win at 4-5.
