DWARF — One woman was sent to the hospital Thursday following a single vehicle accident on Highway 80 near Dwarf, and Perry County deputies are looking for a possible second victim that may have been in the car.

Deputies arrived on scene at the accident around 8:30 a.m. to find a car in the median of the road. According to witness statements, another vehicle pulled out on to Highway 80 causing the car to swerve out of the way. The driver then over corrected and hit a guardrail before bouncing into the median of the road.

One woman whose name is not being released was taken to the hospital with a head injury that Deputy Elmer Fugate described as not appearing to be life threatening.

The woman was taken from the passenger seat of the car, so at this time it is unclear if the accident threw her into this seat or if there was another person in the car at the time of the accident. Adding to this confusion was the discovery of two wallets, one female and one male, in the car.

The woman is currently listed as the driver of the vehicle since they have not been able to interview her due to her injuries. The shift knob of the car was broken, which could indicate that she was simply thrown inside the vehicle due to the force of the collision.
