Hundreds turn out to battle cancer

Perry County’s 2012 Relay for Life event was held at the Perry County Park on Saturday, with hundreds of people turning out to help raise money for cancer research. This and related events raises thousands of dollars in Perry County alone to benefit the American Cancer Society each year. Several cancer survivors were honored on Saturday as they opened the relay with the annual survivor’s lap. The relay was set to last throughout Saturday evening and into the night.
