One person was taken to the hospital on April 25 following a wreck that could have been much worse.
According to Perry County Sheriff’s Deputy Elmer Fugate, a driver of a Jeep Cherokee pulled out of a parking area on the 699 in Cornettsville at the same time a flatbed truck turned around a bend. The two collided damaging the jeep and sending its driver to the hospital.
According to one deputy the wreck was surprisingly not as bad as it could have been considering the blind curve in the road. The Jeep’s driver’s injuries were described as non-life threatening and the driver of the flatbed truck was not taken to the hospital.
The road was closed briefly while crews cleaned up the accident. Authorities said that many of the turns on 699 and Hwy 7 are blind turns and it is lucky these kinds of accidents don’t happen more often.
