Kilburn sisters sweep Soap Box Derby

On Saturday, the 13th Annual Soap Box Derby was held in Hazard. The region championship determined which two racers (one from stock and one from super-stock) would go to Akron for the World Championship.

After 30 races in each division, the champions were crowned. Halle Jo Kilburn took the stock division, while Laiken Kilburn came out on top in the super-stock division. It is the first time since Hazard has been hosting the event that siblings have come away with the top honors.
