The Hazard Bulldogs concluded their regular season on Friday as they hosted the Powell County Pirates. The Bulldogs struggled with the Pirates early, but began to pull away in the second period. They were able to keep a strong hold on the momentum, and went on to the 65-51 win.

The Bulldogs came out playing hard, but could not put the Pirates at a disadvantage as they dropped several on Hazard from behind the arc. Hazard was able to finish the period with a scant 19-17 lead.

The Bulldogs began to take control of the tempo in the second period as they moved into the double-digit lead. Hazard went into the locker room with the 39-28 advantage.

Scoring dropped off considerably in the third quarter, with Powell County getting the better of the scoring 11-10. However, this kept the Hazard double-digit lead intact (49-39) going into the final eight minutes.

Hazard started the final period strong, and soon had the game on ice. The Bulldogs went on cruise control for the final couple of minutes, and came away with the 65-51 win.

Hazard (65) Tyler Triplett 8, Evan Whitaker 14, Jordan Olinger 3, Collier Mobelini 11, Chris Hudson 9, Matt Thompson 18 and Mack Hall 2.

Powell Co. (51) Marcum 20, Mullins 7, McCoy 9, Townsend 4, Hubbard 5 and Thompson 6.
