Couple arrested on drug dealing charges

HAZARD – A man and his wife are facing drug trafficking charges this week after police say they were able to purchase several pills off the couple Thursday afternoon.

During the course of their investigation, police say, they purchased 10 oxycodone tablets off of David and Dana Noble, both of Hazard, at 2:45 p.m. on May 24. The couple was arrested less than an hour and a half later at the Murphy’s gas station in the Walmart parking lot, according to Deputy Chief Joe Engle with the Hazard Police Department.

HPD officers opened an investigation Thursday morning after tips were received reporting possible drug activity, Engle said, adding that the pills were purchased with marked currency which was recovered following the arrests. Also seized during the investigation were 100 more 15 milligram oxycodone tablets, with a reported street value of $20 each.

Both David Noble, 34, and Dana Noble, 33, are facing one count each of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, a Class C felony which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. They were lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard.
