Hazard Community and Technical College hosted its annual Evening with Poets Thursday in the Stephens Library. Seventeen writers, including former Poet Laureate Gurney Norman, Leigh Anne Hornfeldt, and Jim Webb, read their work in front of an audience of approximately 150 people. The reading was held Thursday to coincide with the release of the college’s literary journal, Kudzu, which is now currently available. The college will also hold its annual Spring Writers Conference on Friday, with Norman and Hornfeldt leading two concurrent sessions from 10 a.m. to noon, and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in attending can do so free of charge.
