Man indicted on sex crime charges
HAZARD – A Perry County man is facing several sexually-related charges after he was indicted last week. Samuel Stamper, 37, of Chavies, was indicted on charges of third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, third-degree sexual abuse, and prohibited use of an electronic system to procure a minor. Jail inmate walks away from work release
An inmate at the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Perry County escaped on Monday. Christopher Colwell, 37 of Lower Second Creek, was on work release detail in the Pigeon Roost community of Perry County when he allegedly ran away from the site, officials with the jail said.
