‘Taste of Hazard’ set for May 9
The third annual Taste of Hazard is scheduled for next week on the Hazard campus of Hazard Community and Technical College. Last year, over 200 people enjoyed a fine evening of food, drink, and music. An array of delicious food from hors d’oeuvres to desserts will be available for guests to sample. Wooton recognized for years of service
Buckhorn resident Pat Wooton was recognized recently for his years of service, as Rep. Hal Rogers entered into the Congressional Record a tribute to Wooton, who retired this week as a field representative for Rogers’ Hazard district office. College hosts Evening with Poets
Hazard Community and Technical College hosted its annual Evening with Poets Thursday in the Stephens Library. Seventeen writers, including former Poet Laureate Gurney Norman, Leigh Anne Hornfeldt, and Jim Webb, read their work in front of an audience of approximately 150 people. New Hope serves community in need of food
HAZARD — Volunteers at the emergency food pantry at the New Hope church in Hazard have been more than busy since last fall when the church offered its services to distribute commodities to Perry Countians every month.
