HAZARD – A three-sport athlete at Hazard High School will make the leap to college in baseball after signing his letter of intent with the University of Virginia at Wise. Little League season continues in Perry
The Perry County Little League season continued this past week, at Perry County Park. In the first game, the Cubs overcame the Dodgers by a final score of 17-8. The Dodgers controlled the early innings of the game, taking the 2-1 lead after the first inning, and a 6-2 advantage after two. The Perry County Central Lady Commodores hosted the Tim Short Classic this past weekend, opening with the Leslie County Lady Eagles. The region tennis tournament was held this past weekend at Whitesburg. Hunters can now go online at fw.ky.gov to see if they were drawn for Kentucky’s 2013-14 elk hunts. The Commonwealth Office of Technology has selected 1,010 names from among the 34,397 people who applied for the hunts.
