Crockettsville breaks $1 million raised

BOONEVILLE—The seventh annual Crockettsville Charity Concert and Trail Ride was held over the weekend on the Abner Farm in Breathitt County, drawing in thousands of people.Janet Smith, chairman of the charity event’s board, said though the final dollar amount for this year’s event hasn’t been calculated, over $1 million has been raised since the first event in 2007.Smith added that it’s estimated that over 11,000 people attended the three-day event this year, which included a concert, motocross event, and 42-mile trail ride, and around $140,000 was raised over the weekend for the Buckhorn Children’s Foundation.
