The Hazard Bulldog soccer team ended its regular season with a loss. The Bulldogs traveled to Pikeville early in the week, and came away with a draw. They then fell 1-2 to the Cougars of Letcher Central.
The Bulldog defense blanked the Panther throughout the entire 80 minutes. Unfortunately, Hazard was unable find the back of the net themselves. The game ended with a nil score. Chase Caldwell had 14 saves on the night.
On Thursday, Hazard hosted the Letcher Central Cougars. The Bulldogs took the early lead as Zach Fleming put Hazard on top.
The Bulldogs would not be able to revisit the scoring column again in the second half. However, the Cougars were able to put two on the board to take the 2-1 win.
After the game, Coach Bates said, “I am pleased with where we are defensively. We pressure the ball as good as anyone in the region. Finding a way to score is crucial to continuing post season play. Either way, I am very plaeased with the direction the program is going.”
