On Friday, the Perry County Central football team hosted the Whitley County Colonels in a district match up. The Commodores were trying to stop a four game skid, and move up in the district standings.
The Commodores were able to keep the game close in the opening quarter, holding a 14-7 lead at one point. The Colonels went on a scoring barrage late in the period, and ended with a 28-14 advantage. Whitley County would continue to roll, and went up 43-20 lead late in the game. They would finish the game with another short rally that netted them the 54-20 win.
The loss dropped the Commodores to 2-5 on the season. Next up for Perry Central will be the 8-0 North Laurel Jaguars.
