On Wednesday, the Hazard Lady Bulldog volleyball team took on the Letcher Central Lady Cougars in the semifinals of the 14th region tournament. The Lady Bulldogs lost both previous meetings with the Lady Cougars in the regular season.

Hazard started strong, and kept pace with Letcher Central in the opening moments of game one. The Lady Bulldogs, however, would not be able to pull out the win as they fell 20-25.

The sting of the loss did not set well with the Lady Bulldogs, and they came out ready to play in game two. The momentum of the game went back and forth throughout the contest, but the final rally belonged to Hazard as they tied the match with the 25-23 win.

The rally in game two took its toll on the Lady Bulldogs as they seemed a little flat in the next two games. Letcher Central was able to move on in the tournament with back-to-back wins (25-18 and 25-17).

The Lady Bulldogs finished their season with a 21-12 record.
