On Friday, the Perry County Central Commodore football team hosted the Somerset Briar Jumpers in what turned out to be the Commodores final game of the season. Perry Central started the season strong with a pair of wins, but followed would be a series of eight straight losses.

Somerset started the game with three straight touchdowns which netted them the 21-0 lead. Perry Central came back with a touchdown by Jordan Combs from a couple of yards out. However they could not convert the extra-point attempt, setting the score at 21-6.

The Briar Jumpers continued their assault in the second quarter, posting a trio of touchdowns in that frame as well. The Commodores could not answer, and went into the locker room trailing 42-6.

In the second half, the clock ran down, with only one score being posted to the board. The Commodores picked up their second touchdown, but could get no closer than 42-13.

The loss finished Perry Central’s regular season, and since their was an addition to the district this season, they will not be making the state playoffs. No stats were provided for this game.
