Last Thursday, Bluegrass Championship Wrestling came to town and entertained wrestling fans of all ages. Several top wrestlers from here in Perry County took part in the event held at the National Guard Army.
First up for the fans was “The Driver” Earl Fields. Fields match did not end the way many would have hoped, but did open the way for a “bullwhip” match at the next event (the wrestler who can climb a ten foot pole and retrieve the bullwhip gets to use it on the other).
Things heated up later in the evening as “The Island Boys”, Kyle Maggard and Eddie Browning entered the ring for a tag team match. They would take on “The Perfect Sexy Picture”. Chaos erupted in the auditorium as the two teams took to the floor. In the end, however, the local heroes would fail to get the fall as outside help decided the outcome.
The crowd came to their feet as local favorite John Noble entered the ring. Noble would take on national wrestling sensation Tony Kozina. The match proved to be exciting, with many highflying stunts that thrilled the crowd.
Just as the crowd was being whipped into a frenzy in an attempt to bring Noble back from a series of devastating moves by Kozina, the Legendary Larry D disrupted the match bringing about a disqualification.
The fight spilled over onto the floor, and required several wrestlers to break up the fight. In the end, John Noble and Larry D agreed to a winner take all match. If John Noble wins the match, Larry D has to leave the area; and if Larry D wins, Noble has to retire from wrestling all together.
At the end of the evening, everyone in attendance had a great time. The fallout from the night’s event will culminate in the Thanksgiving Turmoil to be held at the National Guard Armory on Thanksgiving night.
