After receiving a bye into the second round of the 6th grade tournament, the R. W. Combs Lady Mustangs needed a win over the Viper Lady Hornets to move on. The Lady Mustangs first period tally was sufficient enough to secure the win.

While holding the Lady Hornets scoreless in the first period, the Lady Mustangs were able to put 20 points on the board. A mass change in the lineup did little to change the fate of Viper as R. W. Combs went into the break with the 24-7 advantage.

R. W. Combs put the clock in motion early in the third period, and finished the frame with the 42-6 lead. Only one point was scored in the final frame, allowing R. W. Combs to move on with the 42-8 win.

R. W. Combs (42) Fannin 13, Gibson 5, Beverly 6, and Hoskins 18.

Viper (8) Minks 1, Rafferty 2, Brown 2 and Pugh 3.
