The Hazard Bulldogs suffered through a disappointing season last year, finishing with a 13-14 record. The Bulldogs will be bringing experience to the floor as they have six seniors on the roster.
Griffin Wells and Blake Nidiffer will provide the Bulldogs with an experienced backcourt as they are the two lone returning starters. Hazard will depend heavily on fellow seniors Cade Fletcher, Chase Caldwell, Zach Fleming and Austin Spurlock if they are going to make a run through the region.
Coach Al Holland has put together an opening schedule that will allow him to experiment with his line ups, and get ready for the second half of the season. The Bulldogs will play six of their first seven games at home, and will get a look at all three teams in the district.
The lone away game on Hazard’s early schedule will be Jackson City (14-16). This will be a tough start as the Tiger can be tricky at home. After that it is home for a long while as the Bulldogs take on Perry Central (23-11), Lee County (1-26), Leslie County (11-17), Knott County (30-3), Owsley County (8-17) and Buckhorn (18-10).
Before going into the Christmas break, Coach Al Holland should know what his team is capable of, and have them ready for the second half of the season.
