On Thursday, after the turkey had settled, area wrestlers took to the ring at the National Guard Armory to settle their grudges. Bluegrass Championship Wrestling took to the ring in from of a sold out crowd for Thanksgiving Turmoil.
The night began with a couple of matches featuring nonlocal wrestlers. Just before the intermission, local wrestler Mitch Smith filled in for the Bus Driver Earl Fields in a bullwhip match. Unfortunately, Smith did not win.
After the intermission, local tag team heroes, “The Island Boys” took to the ring. Eddie Browning and Kyle Maggard took on the team of Picture Perfect and Sexy Stan.
After a long hard battle, the Island Boys prevailed. However, their opponents were not gracious in the loss, and finished off the fight with handcuffs and tables.
The night concluded with an old fashioned street fight between Larry D and John Noble. It was a high stake fight as Noble’s career was on the line.
The fight covered the entire area of the armory as the two did battle outside the ring more often than inside. Garbage cans, brooms, mops and tables became weapons throughout the match, but eventually it would be a folding chair that would do Noble in. Per the contract, the loss forced Noble to retire.
