Early last week, the Perry County Central Commodores went on the road to take on the Johnson Central Eagles. The Commodores took the early lead, and never looked back as they cruised to the 75-63 win.
Perry Central was on fire in the first quarter, hitting nearly every shot they took. The first period barrage lifted them to the 27-16 lead.
Johnson Central began to find their range as well in the second period, and outscored the Commodores in the frame. However, it would be Perry Central that went into the locker room with the 41-34 lead.
Nothing was settled in the third quarter as the two teams played to a tie. This left the Commodores still sitting on a seven point lead (58-51) going into the final eight minutes.
The Commodores were able to fend off the Eagle’s attack down the stretch, preserving the 75-63 win. Noah Back led Perry Central in scoring with 14 points on the night.
