Early last week, the Hazard Bulldogs welcomed in the Knott County Central Patriots. On this night, the Bulldogs were unable to get a handle on their offense, and fell to the Patriots 64-48.
Both teams started tight, with scoring at a premium. Knott County, however, would begin to pick up the pace midway through, and jumped out to the 13-5 first period lead.
The Patriots would continue to have the hot hand as the second quarter began, but the Bulldogs would soon find their rhythm. By the time the horn sounded for the half, Hazard had cut the lead to a single point at 26-25.
The second half would play out much as the first as Knott County was up 44-34 at the end of the third quarter. Hazard started the fourth quarter strong, but soon faded, allowing the Patriots to claim the 64-48 win.
