The Buckhorn Wildcats took on the Holy Cross Indians in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic in Lexington this weekend. The Wildcats fell behind early in the contest before making a game of it. Unfortunately, Buckhorn would come up short 67-62.

The game was rather tight in the early going, with Buckhorn trailing by three (17-14) at the end of the first period. The Wildcats hit a dry spell in the second period, sending them to the locker room trailing 40-27.

The Wildcats erased much of their deficit in the third period as they came out of the break red-hot. With eight minutes left to play, Buckhorn needed to make up but two points (49-47).

The Wildcats, however, would not be able to accomplish the comeback as they fell by the final tally of 67-62. Connor Hoskins led Buckhorn in scoring with 29 points.

Buckhorn (62) Ryan Boggs 12 (9 rebounds and 1 assist), Shannon Blank 3 (6 rebounds and 1 assist), Josh Crank 16 (4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals), Connor Hoskins 29 (4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal) and Daniel Hurley 2 (1 rebound and 1 steal).
