Commodores shoot down Falcons

Photo by Tony McGuire | Hazard Herald Perry Central’s Damon Tobler played his first game of the season this past week, and had 21 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals as the Commodores defeated Monroe County 73-61.


Over the holiday break, the Perry County Central Commodores traveled to Bowling Green to participate in the Warren East Holiday Hoops Classic. Their first opponent would be the Monroe County Falcons.

The Commodores took the early lead, building a 21-10 lead in the first quarter. The Falcon evened play in the second period, but could not cut into the lead. Perry Central went into the locker room with the 36-25 advantage.

It would be all Perry Central in the third period as they all but put the game on ice (60-38). The Commodores went to their bench for the final period, and came away with the 73-61 win.

Perry Central (73) Chandler Caudill 7 (5 rebounds and 1 steal), Richard Cornett 6 (1 rebound), Travis Dunn 7 (2 assists and 1 steal), Matt Turner 5 (1 rebound, 4 assists and 2 steals), Damon Tobler 21 (6 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals), James Blair 7 (10 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal), Noah Back 11 (1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal), Austin Hill 7 (4 rebounds and 1 assist) and Jacob Woolum 2 (2 rebounds).
