Bulldogs win holiday title

The Hazard Bulldogs found themselves in the championship game of the Pikeville Invitational Tournament after defeating the host team. The Bulldogs took on the Shelby Valley Wildcats in the title game.

Little was settled in the first period as it ended with a 12-all tie. The back and forth battle continued in the second period, with Shelby Valley taking the advantage (33-30) into the locker room.

The Bulldogs came out of the intermission ready to play, and quickly erased their deficit. Hazard ended the period with the 51-48 lead. The lead went back and forth in the final quarter, with Hazard holding on for the 71-68 win, and the title.

Hazard (71) Griffin Wells 23 (1 rebound, 3 assists and 1 steal), Austin Spurlock 15 (4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal), Blake Nidiffer 12 (3 rebounds and 2 assists), Ryan Smith 11 (5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal), Jason Johnson 8 (7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals) and Cheikh Nidaye (1 rebound).
