The Hazard Bulldogs took on the host Pikeville Panthers in the semifinals of the Pikeville Invitational Tournament. The Bulldogs did not get off to a good start, but once they got going, they ran past the Panthers for the 71-60 win.
The Bulldogs had trouble finding their range in the first period, and fell behind 14-10 at the horn. The second quarter saw Hazard find their groove as they outscored Pikeville, and went into the break with the 26-25 advantage.
The momentum stayed on the Hazard side of the court in the third period, and they were able to extend their lead to 48-41 going into the final period. The Bulldogs were able to fend off every Panther attack in the fourth quarter, and moved into the finals with a 71-60 win.
