On Saturday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores hosted the Lady Bulldogs of Hazard. The game was tight for much of the game, but a late 26-12 rally boosted the Lady Commodores past the Lady Bulldogs 75-61.
Hazard opened the game with the first two shots, taking the 5-0 lead. Perry Central picked up the pressure, and eventually moved out into the lead. At the end of the first period, the Lady Commodores were on top 22-14.
The Lady Commodores soon pushed the margin into the double-digit range, but could not stop the Lady Bulldogs from making small runs at the lead. A late flurry by Perry Central put them up 41-30 at the break.
Hazard came out strong in the third period and eventually tied the game at 49. The final basket of the period belonged to Perry Central, sending them into the fourth quarter with the 51-49 lead.
The final period belonged to the Lady Commodores as they capped off a 26-12 run. The rally lifted Perry Central to the 75-61 win.
