The Perry County Central Commodore boys’ soccer team will be the target of ever team in the 14th region as they are the standard to which all other teams make their measure. The Commodores will have a target on their back this season as they hit the pitch, for they are the defending 14th region champions.
The Commodores lost several players to graduation, including the region’s top goalkeeper in Tyler Holland, and speedster Brandon Wooton. However, Perry Central is loaded with offensive firepower this season as top scorer Jacob Farris returns along with ball handling phenomenons Chad Smith and Zac Combs.
Defense has long been the Perry Central strong point as they possess the speed other teams dream about. No other team in the region can match the Commodores as they get up and down the field.
The big question with Perry Central this season will be, can they keep together their top notch coaching staff? The Commodores have a young, but talented coaching staff as brothers Andrew and J.R. Lunsford lead the team. Both are former players at Perry Central, and have experience on the college level. The key to a successful 14th region title repeat lies within keeping the coaching staff together.
As of now, the 2015 schedule is not complete.
