Hazard soccer looking to rebound

Hazard’s Daniel Turner will use his speed to help lift the Bulldogs to a better season.

Hazard will be counting on players like Tyler Collins to step up next season as the Bulldogs look to make their mark on the 14th region.

The Hazard boys soccer team suffered through a tough season last year, going 3-10-2 on the season. The Bulldogs would like to improve on that tally, but will need to find several players to step up this season and fill significant roles.

The Bulldogs lost a majority of their offensive punch as Justin Combs and Hunter Hardy have been lost to graduation. Graduating seniors with significant defensive role include Carson Williams-Lucero and Michael Vires. They will also be looking to replace goalie Shane Williams, who stood in at goal for the majority of the Bulldogs’ games.

The most difficult part of the upcoming season for Hazard will be replacing coach Steven Frasure, who left the team to go back to school to acquire a teaching degree. However, several experienced coaches from the developmental leagues stand ready to fill in.

The Bulldogs only have a handful of games posted on the KHSAA website at this time.
