On Wednesday, the Hazard Bulldogs hosted the South Floyd Raiders from the 15th region. The Bulldogs took control of the game from the opening tap, and never looked back as they posted the 82-61 win.
The Bulldogs used their defense to set the tempo in the first period. Hazard kept the pace high, leading them to the 22-14 lead.
The Raiders finally found a solution to the Bulldog press, and began hitting some shots. South Floyd made a strong run at the Bulldog lead, but it would be Hazard that went into the locker room with the 43-37 advantage.
The game continued to be tight in the third period, with the frame being the lowest scoring of the game (15-16 in favor of South Floyd). Hazard clung to the 58-53 lead with eight minutes to play.
The pace went back to a frenzied pitch in the fourth quarter, with the Bulldogs building a significant lead late in the game. Despite a valiant effort by the Raiders to pull off the comeback, Hazard was able to out pace them to the 82-61 win.
