Look for Perry Central’s Whitney Gordon to be one of the leading offensive threats this season.

Perry Central’s Kelly Arredondo will be one of this season’s breakout players in the 14th region.

Over the past several years, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores have been chasing the elusive region soccer title. Last season, the Lady Commodores were just one game away from fulfilling that dream as they lost in the finals.

The Lady Commodores’ season mark was 16-6 last season, with a loss in the final game of the region to Letcher Central, a team they had defeated twice during the regular season. Despite losing most of their offensive output to graduation (Kelsey Lowe and Brooke Campbell), Perry Central has set their sites on the region title this season.

Not only will the Lady Commodores be looking to replace the offensive scoring of Lowe and Campbell, they will have to replace goalie Breanna Begley. With the experience and numbers that Perry Central possesses, they should be in a good position to make a run at the region title this season.

The Lady Commodores still need to post an up to date schedule on the KHSAA website.
