Early last week, the Perry County Central Commodores traveled to Knott County to take on the Patriots. The Commodores took the lead at the opening tap, and never looked back as they rolled to the 73-57 win.
Perry Central’s defense caused a little trouble in the Knott Central backcourt in the opening frame. The Commodores were able to take advantage of the miscues and raced out to the 20-10 lead at the horn.
The Patriots picked up the pace in the second quarter, but still fell behind the fast-paced Commodores. At the intermission, Perry Central held the 39-24 advantage.
Perry Central was able to keep a firm grip on the lead in the third quarter, and went into the final eight minutes sitting on a 58-38 lead. The Commodores went on cruise control in the fourth quarter, and finished with a convincing 73-57 win.
