On Saturday, the Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Casey County Rebels. The Commodores fell behind early, but made up the difference, before holding off a late charge for the 83-71 win.
Casey County seemed to get the best of the Commodores in the first quarter, jumping out to the early lead and holding the 15-13 advantage at the horn. In the second quarter, however, Perry Central would have the hot hand. The Commodores went into the break with the 36-30 lead.
Things evened out in the third period as the Rebels managed to cut a single point off the deficit (52-47). The event erupted in the fourth quarter as both teams pulled out all the stops. Perry Central was able to get the best of the exchange, and pulled out the 83-71 victory.
