Game two of the 8th grade Perry County tournament pitted the Willard Warhawks and the East Perry Miners. The momentum in this game went back and forth, with an overtime period being required to settle the matter.
In the opening period, the intensity was high, while scoring was at a premium. At the horn, the Warhawks were on top 7-5. The Miners stole the momentum in the second period, and went on to lead 20-15 at the half.
The shift continued in the third period, with Willard tying the score at 23 at the horn. The Warhawks manage to hold onto the lead in the fourth quarter, but allowed the Miners a rally late that tied the score with second remaining. When Willard could not hit the final shot, an overtime period was needed to settle the matter (31-all).
Willard would dominate play in the overtime period, and quickly jumped out to a sizable lead. The Warhawks would not allow a late rally this time, and went on to win the game by the final count of 44-36.
