The Perry Central Commodores pushed up their game with Letcher Central on Saturday in an attempt to beat the weather. Despite the cold weather outside, things heated up inside the Cougars den.
Letcher Central quieted the Commodore offense in the first period, and took the 11-7 lead at the horn. The Commodores caught fire in the second period, and raced to the 33-28 halftime advantage.
Both teams cooled off a little in the third period, with Perry Central managing to hold on to their lead 48-40. Letcher Central made a strong bid for the comeback in the final period, but the Commodores were able to fend off the attack and take the 64-59 win.
