Wildcats bring down Cardinals

The Buckhorn Wildcats and the Chavies Cardinals hooked up in one of the closest semifinal games of the tournaments. The Wildcats would bring down the Cardinals on the strength of a strong second period.

Very little was settled in the first period as it ended with Chavies claiming an 11-10 lead. However, the Wildcats exploded in the second period, and would extend their lead to a level (26-19) that would hold up until the final horn.

The Cardinals would come out strong in the third period, and chipped a few points off the Wildcats lead (30-26). Buckhorn was able to fend off the final barrage by Chavies, and moved on in the tournament with the 41-36 win.

Buckhorn (41) Blank 5, Woods 18, Gibson 11, Bowling 3 and McIntosh 4.

Chavies (36) Fugate 6, Miller 19, Bradley 2, Boggs 2, Stidham 2 and Pence 5.
